Peggy McSperrin's Family Collection 1950's - 1970's
About this collection
These are photos from the album of my Grandma Peggy, who I remember owning a very wild bar in Mhoon Lake, Mississippi while her husband worked at Delta Oil Mill. She had 5 kids with 4 men, was married 6 times, shot a man, and was named “Roxi” at birth. She sat at her table pounding beers and chain smoking. She collected brass figurines and taught me how to make biscuits. I rescued these pictures from a terrible fate (she died and then my mother died) and I hope you love them as much as I do. She’s buried in Friars Point, Mississippi, the hometown of country musician Conway Twitty. I love to visit her there as often as I can.
